Powersports & Engine Technology

Overview

Powersports & Engine Technology offers students many opportunities for hands-on training with motorized equipment and related accessories, such as motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, marine outboard engines, jet skis, trailers, outdoor power equipment, and fork lift trucks. The curriculum focuses on several key areas, including maintenance, engine rebuilds, clutches, drivelines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, tires, and brakes. The program’s shop houses the latest equipment to help students obtain transferable skills through hands-on learning. Powersports & Engine Technology also offers a unique opportunity for individual growth with the Motorsports Tech Club. This club allows students to run a small business by doing repair work and restorations for real clients. These interactions give club members opportunities to practice customer service, which is a huge asset when entering the workforce. Refurbished units are sold at ycst.info/powersports-sales.
