Students of the Month — Congratulations to our students of the month for September: Bianci Valenzuela, Johnathan Ayd, Isabella Weyandt, Jacob Rivera, and Timothy Alder! We recognized them during the Joint Operating Committee meeting on Sept. 29, and we had the opportunity to present Johnathan with his plaque in person. Please watch this video to see these amazing Spartans in action.

News & Notes

Progress Reports — Teachers recently updated grades in Skyward when we reached the halfway point of the first quarter. We invite you to review your child's current grades by logging into Skyward at this link and clicking on the icon titled Grading.

Golf Team — We visited the golf team on Sept. 12 and Sept. 19. As expected, these student-athletes are having a good season. The squad has earned five wins and been very close to securing more. Check out the video and photos taken during our visits.

OAC Dinner — Occupational Advisory Committees (OACs) help us maintain curricula that adhere to industry standards. The committee members enjoyed a dinner cooked by our Culinary Arts students and held biannual meetings on Sept. 27. Thank you to the OAC members for their dedication to Spartan Nation! [Photos]

Environmental Science — There are several areas on our property reserved for native plants, and they are managed by Mr. Barton's Environmental Science classes. Last week, the students had a chance to add new plants and perform general maintenance. We're proud of this group's dedication to improving our local ecosystem! [Photos]

2024 Yearbooks — Orders can now be placed through Jostens for the 2024 yearbook. More information is available on our website at this link.

Apply Now — Applications are being accepted for students currently in Grades 8-9 who wish to attend York Tech next school year. Visit this link to learn more.

Athletics Updates — Girls’ tennis earned back-to-back victories this week by defeating Littlestown (5-0) and Hanover (3-2). Additionally, the field hockey team continued its hot streak and improved to 8-3-2 after downing Dover on Sept. 28. Also, the junior high football team beat James Buchanan by a score of 13-6, while girls’ volleyball looked dominant during its 3-0 throttling of Fairfield. Go, Spartans!

Scholarship Opportunity — Current juniors and seniors are eligible to apply for the TechLink Dual Enrollment Scholarship. Recipients will be able to take two free dual-enrollment courses through Harrisburg Area Community College. Applications must be submitted by Oct. 10, 2023. More details can be found at this link.

Cena OAC — Los Comités Asesores Ocupacionales (OAC) nos ayudan a mantener planes de estudio que cumplan con los estándares de la industria.
