NTHS Induction Ceremony — Fifty-eight students were inducted into our chapter of the National Technical Honor Society on Thursday, Feb. 22. Harry Potter at York Tech — The much-anticipated play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: High School Edition is coming to York. Broadway Licensing Global announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13, that 29 United States schools were selected to perform the play’s first official stagings. York County School of Technology is one of those schools, and, as the only Pennsylvania school selected, it will have exclusive in-state rights to the performance from Oct. 15-Nov. 10, 2024. 2024-25 Course Scheduling — Course scheduling for the 2024-25 school year has begun. Parents and caregivers should click on the button below for more information. Students currently in Grades 9-11 must submit the completed Course Request Form by Thursday, Feb. 29. [More]

Prom 2024 — This year’s prom dance will take place at Wisehaven Event Center from 5:30-9 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Tickets will go on sale around the middle of March. More details will be shared in the near future on our website and through this newsletter.

In-School Tutoring — The NHS Spartan Study Buddies program is available to students who need assistance with coursework. To request a tutoring session, students should sign into their school account, click on the button below, and complete the Google form. [Form]

The SpongeBob Musical — Mark your calendar! York Tech Theatre will be performing The SpongeBob Musical on April 19-21. Tickets can be purchased now by clicking on the button below. [Tickets]

Students of the Month — Congratulations to our students of the month for February: Kylea Jackson, Luke Thurfield, Yamilee Rivera, and Benjamin Wise! We recognized these students by presenting them with plaques and debuting a video about their successes during the Joint Operating Committee meeting on Thursday, Feb. 22. Big 33 Selection — Congratulations to senior Pilar Beatty for being selected to represent York Tech as a member of the 2024 Big 33 Team PA Cheerleading Squad! She navigated a difficult tryout schedule and mastered some challenging skills to earn this special recognition. The Big 33 Football Classic will take place on May 26 at Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field. Good luck, Pilar! [Photo]

Health and Physical Education — Students attending our high school must earn one health and physical education credit to graduate. Thankfully, we have three amazing teachers — Mrs. Hess, Ms. Malandro, and Mr. Mowery — who make these classes informative and fun. We had the chance to visit two health and physical education classes on Monday, Feb. 12. The students were engaged in team sports and strength training, which created some competitive moments! Student Council — Participating in Student Council can be a highlight of the high school experience. We wanted to learn more about this organization, so we met up with seniors Jonathan Hernandez and Macey DiBastiani, the current president and vice-president. PenSPRA Award — York Tech recently received a 2023 PenSPRA Award of Merit for its 2023-24 athletics hype video. Congratulations to the student-athletes and the production team involved in creating the video! Click on the button below to view the winning submission. [Video]

Athletics Updates — Congratulations to Bennett Bradley for advancing to the PIAA District III Wrestling Championships! Also, the unified bocce team took first place at the league tournament, clinching a spot at regionals. Finally, Zoe Welsh qualified for the PIAA District III Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held March 1-2 at Cumberland Valley High School. She will be swimming in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Good luck, Spartans!

Harry Potter en York Tech — La obra tan esperada Harry Potter y el legado maldito: Edición de secundaria viene a York.
