This afternoon, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, York Tech was briefly evacuated in response to a fire alarm. It was quickly determined that there was no fire; the alarm had been tripped by smoke from a microwave. Everyone returned to the building, and the school day resumed shortly afterward. We'd like to commend students and staff for their calm response and adherence to our safety procedures.
Additionally, we have an update related to the phone issue communicated earlier today. Incoming and outgoing external phone calls are currently going through. We have not received official word from the phone company that the problem is resolved, so intermittent issues may persist until a full resolution is achieved. Thank you for your patience.
